Reopened in 1987, the east wall of the window, shows a sheep with horns, flank pierced by a cross-shaped sword. Its chest and hindquarters evoke those of a lion.

Lamb is the most consistent and most popular symbol by which Christ appears. The lion symbolizes the tribe of Judah and Jesus descends from Judah by David. The True Cross is worn on the heart not the shoulders.

"Currently it is lamb, but it will become like a lion." (Luke 4: 18)

"The great God who is Lion and Lamb opens the book: The Lamb-Lion is God incarnated." (Titulus Suger)
