Definition: sinopia (plural sinopias) is a reddish color pigment (close to the blood color). It is recommended as a sketch for murals. It allows you to draw with a pencil directly on the wall "a secco" for fresco painters, for the transfer on the "velo".

By metonymy Sinopia is the name of the work performed with this pigment.
